Center for Technology Access and Training

Connecting People. Empowering Futures.

Mission

The Center for Technology Access and Training (CETAT) bridges the digital divide by advancing digital equity and expanding access to opportunity. CETAT empowers individuals in underserved communities to move beyond basic technology use and become confident creators, problem-solvers, and innovators. We believe that equitable access to reliable broadband, quality devices, and practical, relevant training is essential for success in education, employment, and civic participation.

CETAT exists to create equitable pathways to opportunity through technology. We equip individuals and communities with the practical digital skills, tools, and support needed to participate fully in today’s connected world. Our work is grounded in hands-on learning, strong community partnerships, and programs designed to address local needs. From youth exploration and workforce preparation to senior engagement and community technology access, CETAT is committed to ensuring technology functions as a bridge to opportunity rather than a barrier.

Sandtown Center

The Sandtown Center is CETAT’s community hub in West Baltimore dedicated to closing the digital divide and creating opportunity where it is needed most. Participants of all ages have access to computer literacy training, coding and game design education, digital media and production skills, and personalized technology support services. Youth programs focus on future ready skills like coding, music and video production, and drone operation, while programs for adults include career preparation, computer repair training, and foundational digital skills that improve earning potential and community engagement.

Community Programs

CETAT’s community programs provide practical, hands-on technology learning for people of all ages, with a focus on access, confidence, and real-world skills. Through initiatives like Seniors First, older adults receive personalized support to navigate devices, email, online services, and digital safety. Youth programs and after-school offerings engage students in creative and applied technology experiences, including coding, digital media, web design, PC repair, Microsoft Office, and academic support. CETAT also delivers workforce-focused training that builds job-ready digital skills and supports pathways to certifications and employment. Together, these programs ensure technology is accessible, relevant, and directly connected to community needs.
